The word Valentine as a noun describes a Sweetheart chosen on St.Valentine’s Day (February 14). A note or greeting card sent to Sweetheart on this Day containing a message of sentimental love is also described as a Valentine.
On Tuesday, February 14, 2023, the Valentine’s Day 2023 I send a note to my Sweetheart. This Valentine Card is about my heartbeat and my Sweetheart may not be able to hear my beating heart.
WHO IS MY VALENTINE ?
On Monday, February 2022, the Valentine’s Day 2022, my Sweetheart knew that my heart beats faster whenever I see her and whenever she is next to me. I provided the evidence to show that she makes my heart beat faster. On 02-22-2022, I confirmed the Rudi-Madhubala Connection at Whole Foods, Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA.
In 1976 while attending the Advanced Training in Pediatrics Course at the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, India, I purchased the Clinical Methods by Dr. Rustom Jal Vakil and Dr. Aspi F. Golwalla. In 1976, I did not know anything about Madhubala and had no clue about her health condition. Since 1954 and until Madhubala’s death on February 23, 1969, these two physicians were involved in her medical care. However, the news about Madhubala’s health problems and her premature death at the age of 36-years never reached me until February 2022. In 2022, I could not have conducted a complete physical examination of Madhubala and never got the chance to listen to hear her heartbeat. Right now, I have access to her photo images which do not reveal the signs and symptoms of a major, life-threatening health problem she had during her entire life since the time of her birth in Delhi on February 14, 1933. To the same extent, I can positively affirm that Madhubala during her mortal existence had no chance to hear my heartbeat.
Her heart problem was diagnosed in 1954 when Madhubala was visiting my birthplace Mylapore, Madras, Chennai City. In 1954, the problem called Ventricular Septal Defect was not amenable to surgical intervention. It is birth defect in the muscular wall that separates the two lower chambers of the heart called Ventricles.
On May 6th, 1953, the first successful open-heart operation was performed with the use of the heart-lung machine, one of the most important forms of therapy in the history of cardiac disease. On that spring day in Philadelphia, John H. Gibbon, Jr, MD, of the Jefferson University Medical Center, using total cardiopulmonary bypass for 26 minutes, closed a large secundum atrial septal defect in an 18-year-old woman.
Benjamin Bethel Milstein was born in Dublin, but the family moved to north London when he was a baby. Milstein went to study medicine at University College Hospital, London. Milstein qualified in 1942 and joined the Royal Army Medical Corps, where he was attached to an artillery unit. He landed in France four days after D-Day and was mentioned in dispatches for his medical service during the Battle of the Bulge, a German counteroffensive launched in December 1944.
He was demobilised in 1946 and worked at Guy’s Hospital and the Royal Brompton under cardiac surgeon Russell Brock (later Lord Brock), who pioneered both the hypothermia technique and the heart-lung machine. It was this experience which gave Milstein the confidence to carry out these groundbreaking techniques on his arrival at Papworth Hospital.

Dr Benjamin Bethel Milstein arrived at Papworth Hospital, Cambridgeshire, England in January 1958 and performed the first open heart surgery in this way to repair a large atrial septal defect on 28 year old Pamela Gooding. The operation was a success. In those early days mortality due to open heart surgery was 80%. By the 1970s Milstein and his colleagues were performing 150 open heart procedures a year, with mortality falling to around 5%.
Madhubala was uniquely unfortunate as she could not reap the benefits of Open Cardiac Surgery that revolutionized the treatment of Cardiac Disease in late 1960s. Madhubala went to London soon after her marriage with legendary singer Kishore Kumar during 1960. Due to the onset of medical complications like raised Pulmonary Vascular Resistance causing the Eisenmenger Syndrome, Madhubala had to return back to India without any surgical intervention.
Soon after her return to India, Madhubala was asked by her husband Kishore Kumar to live in an apartment and face the ordeal of her painful life journey on her own terms. Madhubala passionately desired to live her life to the fullest extent and wanted to avoid losing her life prematurely. She prayed to all gods going beyond her own family traditions to find healing through devotion and prayerful submission to the Supreme Being.
Madhubala suffered a heart attack on the night of February 22, 1969 and died on February 23, 1969. For this reason, my experience of Madhubala Connection in Ann Arbor on February 22, 2022 is not a random, unguided, purposeless event. It is entirely providential.
Yes indeed, Life is complicated. The Complexities of Life can never be understood without knowing the truth called Past. The experiences of Future Life cannot be validated or verified. The experience of Present Life can be validated and be verified by knowing the true or real Past Experience of Life. The Past is Never Dead.
